It seems i worried a couple of people lately because they could not get ahold of me. I just wanted to let you all know that I left my cell phone in sonoma so they are mailing it me. I've kind of been out of contact for the last couple of days, so if I caused someone to worry- I apologize and if you didn't notice at all..well, then you suck and we are not friends anymore- because I could have been dead. In a ditch somewhere and you would not have even missed me.

Anyway- I really wish I wrote in this thing more often. I had the best weekend with Steve ever in the entire world. I loved it. He has been working really hard on his business school essays (I still can't believe that there is the possibilty that my boyfriend could be a Haaaaaaaaaarvard man) so I wanted to do something special for him. I planned this entire day as a surprise. We met at a Target in Novato...He left his car there for the day and I drove us up to the secret destination. He was going nutso with all this. I had the car all packed up but a blanket over all the stuff so he couldnt even see what sort of stuff was back there. Anyway...we drove up to Mendocino county to a beautiful!!! freshwater lake fed by springs surrounded my gold hills with huge oak trees. We passed vineyards for miles as we wound our way to the lake. I cooked all night and brought a gourmet picnic...rosemary chicken, heirloom tomato salad..peppered flat iron steak sandwiches..way too much food! I even made home made lemonade and baked an apple pie!! So anyway...we got to this amazing lake...found the secluded beach area that I had found in a "best secret swimming holes of CA" guidebook at borders. It was so quiet and peaceful. I wore my bikini- in public!! Well- there really was no one else there. We spread out the quilt, our lounge chairs, read books and talked...ate, drank, swam, hiked. Let us just say, the wild and great outdoors were definately wild on that day! hahahah

The best part was swimming...I love swimming in freshwater...we wore our tevas and would swim across the lake..hike out the other side in our swimsuits and would climb a hill and just sit on a tree branch looking out onto the lake, the hills and valleys and vineyards. Seriously, it was the best day of my life and I am so in love with Steve.

It is a somewhat kind of chain letter....ask for an interview, I ask you five questions, you answer them on your LJ....she aksed me these...

1. So what's the real deal with you and Steve?
Steve and I are back together...very happy, but busy. Things are great, although I wish we saw more of each other only because I think he is an overwhelmingly sweet, kind and fun person. He is a great friend to me, loves me, knows me and supports me even though I mess up all the time.

2. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I wanted to be a cookie. Seriously you can ask anyone in my family.

3. If you had to give up one vice (smoking, drinking, booty calls, etc.) which one would it be?
Booty calls probably because I've never done that...

4. Which would you rather have? Salma's boobies or J-Lo's booty? Wow- this is a hard call. Probably salma's boobs....mine are starting to sag.

5. Which one was your favorite nun? Christine...hands down. One time I dog sat for her in her apartment...her bookshelf had books about basketball and motor cycle repair. hahahha Although Claire is pretty cool.

"I know what they go through when they're out on patrol at night and they don't know what's coming around the next bend. I know what it's like to write letters home telling your family that everything's all right when you're just not sure that's true.

"I defended this country as a young man, and I will defend it as president,'' he added.

In a nod to Democrats in the peace movement, many of whom see Kerry as an only slightly better alternative to Bush, he suggested that those who attack the patriotism of opponents of the Iraq war are "wrapping themselves in the flag and shutting their eyes and ears to the truth,'' forgetting that dissent is "the heart and soul of patriotism.''

The flag "doesn't belong to any president,'' Kerry said.
"I want to address these next words directly to President George W. Bush: In the weeks ahead, let's be optimists, not just opponents. Let's build unity in the American family, not angry division. Let's honor this nation's diversity; let's respect one another; and let's never misuse for political purposes the most precious document in American history, the Constitution of the United States."

Kerry's speech

I hope all of you watched it or will try to catch some of it when they reair it. I always thought I was going to vote for Kerry because I hated bush so much. The speech was great, so moving and a direct attack on Bush. Go to the link to read the transcript, it is long so if you aren't going to read it all, read the closing part- because it is the best. Go KERRY!!

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/07/29/dems.kerry.transcript/index.html

This part I thought was the best....feel the burn Bush!!!

"And let me say it plainly: In that cause, and in this campaign, we welcome people of faith. America is not us and them. I think of what Ron Reagan said of his father a few weeks ago, and I want to say this to you tonight: I don't wear my own faith on my sleeve. But faith has given me values and hope to live by, from Vietnam to this day, from Sunday to Sunday. I don't want to claim that God is on our side. As Abraham Lincoln told us, I want to pray humbly that we are on God's side. And whatever our faith, one belief should bind us all: The measure of our character is our willingness to give of ourselves for others and for our country.

These aren't Democratic values. These aren't Republican values. They're American values. We believe in them. They're who we are. And if we honor them, if we believe in ourselves, we can build an America that's stronger at home and respected in the world.

So much promise stretches before us. Americans have always reached for the impossible, looked to the next horizon, and asked: What if?"
